HEAT HAYLE OUTDOOR POOL
Your votes have won Hayle Swimming Pool funding of £12500 from M&S Community Energy Fund to cover the pool with a solar cover which harnesses the sun's energy to heat the water.
PAST / PRESENT / FUTURE
Hayle Outdoor Swimming Pool - technically a LIDO, the pool is a beautiful gem in the heart of Hayle - situated at the beginning of the Discovery Trail, adjacent to the sub-tropical gardens, Hayle Estuary Nature Reserve, the new promenade and three miles of golden sandy beaches that stretch to Godrevy Lighthouse. This is an ideal base to spend the day discovering Hayle's hidden and fascinating past, or discovering it's promising future.
The pool is a safe place for kids to learn to swim, offering sheltered bathing and swimming with lifeguards in attendance. Facilities are dated, but functional and adequate, in fact they add to the feeling that you have stepped back in time.

CAN YOU HELP?
Hayle swimming pool has always been owned by Hayle Town Council, and no longer receives any funding from Cornwall Council. Thanks to various grants and in particular the M&S Community Energy Fund, the pool from 2016 will be fitted with a solar cover which it is expected should raise the water temperature by up to 6 degrees. The filtration system has also been updated and the pool drained and painted. So there has never been a better time to spend a day at Hayle Swimming Pool!
If you would like to help the pool survive please use it, or if you could spare a little time, or would like to sponsor the pool, please contact the Hayle Swimming Pool Supporters Group:
or telephone 01736 752192 and leave a message.
